Amref recently took part in the research project, Who Owns The Story? alongside UEA and UAL, looking at how UK audiences respond financially and emotionally to stories of poverty developed and told directly by the image ‘subject’ in their own words, as opposed to fundraising materials designed by the charity.
Rachel, who was directly involved in this project, will be talking to us about their research findings, focusing on what she and the Amref team learnt along the way, and how that’s informed their approach to fundraising and communications.
We’ll have time for a Q&A as well as a broader discussion on ethical storytelling and fundraising.
