About The Social Change Agency and The Social Change Nest CIC

The Social Change Agency is a systemic change consultancy and training provider, specialising in creating powerful human-centred networks and movements for social impact. Our team are experts in creating social impact using social innovation, peer networks, community organising, collaboration and systemic and organisational change approaches.

In 2020 we set up a CIC called the Social Change Nest, which aims to remove the structural barriers for social movements and networks for change, providing a way for agile, strategic and effective money management granting for them, which also supports powerful institutions to become more responsive and accountable to wider society and more aligned with the long-term public interest.

Project overview

We are excited to find a partner at a vital stage in our programme, and want to hear from evaluators who share an understanding of Accountable vision to drive systems-change through our work supporting over 200 social movements and activists.

This evaluation will be pivotal to the future direction and success of Accountable. The programme was launched 14 months ago and we are looking to build the structure to measure its effectiveness and impact as we grow.

We have worked with an evaluation partner to conduct the first stage of developing our Theory of Change and strategy.

We are seeking to build on this and:

Develop a model to measure long-term impact for users of Accountable
Develop a better understanding of economic benefits in the social sector and the communities we support
Maximise learning from the evaluation to increase impact and to influence funders, commissioners, policy-makers, and delivery partners

Practical outcomes can include, but not be limited to:

Design a Learning & Evaluation framework
Develop and implement systems for measuring impact and evaluating outcomes through a full project plan
Design and develop data collection and program evaluation tools that we would be able to implement ourselves to embed into our day to day work
Review of current database and data collection
Create a project plan that our team can follow to ensure that we are staying on track with our data collection and periodic reflection points.
Draft templates for written reports and presentations related to evaluation process and findings

Desired timeline

July – agree
Aug – framework and project plan finalised
Sep – Feb – SCN team collects data and implements project plan with periodic check ins with the evaluator to adjust plans accordingly
Jan – data analysis
Feb/March – impact report
