Jenny Parkinson

Programme Assistant

Jenny has a background in International Studies and is passionate about human rights and intersectional gender equality. She holds a BA in Anthropology from Durham University where she focused her studies on gender equality, writing her dissertation on the subject of gender perception in university sport.

Jenny also holds an MA in International Relations from Durham University, where the focus of her studies was human rights and policy writing. Her thesis centred on female suffrage in 19th Century USA. While at university Jenny was also Club Captain for the University Cheerleading Team, where she enjoyed watching how the sport empowered people from all backgrounds. They experienced many successful seasons, gaining National Grand Champion titles and raising £400 for charity.

Prior to joining The Social Change Agency, Jenny embarked on a three week volunteer programme in Fiji, renovating a local school and teaching basic English and numeracy. In her spare time she likes to paint and draw and has recently delved into digital art. Jenny is thrilled to be a part of a team that celebrates collaboration, creativity and innovation.
