The Young Trustees Movement
A movement to increase the the quality and quantity of young trustees on boards in England and Wales
The Social Change Agency are delighted to be working on an initiative to grow the numbers of young trustees in England and Wales. This initiative is funded by the Blagrave Trust, Esmee Fairbairn Foundation, Co-op Foundation, Zing and the Paul Hamlyn Foundation. The movement takes a systemic approach with young people and other critical stakeholders to build a movement of Young Trustees, under 30.
Following the initial scoping and research stage we are pleased to announce the next phase of building the Young Trustees Movement which consists of four key interventions: a campaign targeted at behaviour change in charity boards, a digital hub for resources and signposting, cohort learning for wannabe young trustees, and a network of all the individuals and organisations that are ready to make this a reality. The Young Trustees Movement is working on the principle of supporting, enhancing, and expanding what is working well and filling the gaps with innovative solutions. This will be a truly collaborative endeavour, lead by our sector-wide advisory board and will be championed by young people across the country.
