The Young Trustees Project

A project increasing the the quality and quantity of young trustees on boards in England and Wales.

The Social Change Agency and the Blagrave Trust are delighted to be working on a new initiative to grow the numbers of young trustees in England and Wales. The project aims to take a systemic approach with young people and other critical stakeholders to build a movement of Young Trustees, under 26.

We are looking to engage with young people and the charities that could or already are making the most of what young people have to offer in governance with a series of workshops. These workshops will begin to build a vision about what is possible in terms of building a movement of young trustees as well as dig deeper into understanding the challenges and opportunities of increasing the quantity and quality of young trustees on boards.

We want to hear from you if you are any of the following:

  • A young person interested in being a trustee
  • A current or past young trustee
  • An employee or trustee of an organisation that is interested in recruiting young trustees or have young trustees on your board
  • A trustee recruiter
  • Or generally interested in joining in on the conversation

Come along to share your insights, experience or to learn more about this project! We will ensure that cost is not a barrier for young people to attend any roundtables or events by offering travel bursaries. Please get in touch at karen@thesocialchangeagency.org to find out more.
